The meaning of volunteering

If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap.

If you want happiness for a day, go fishing.

If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune.

If you want happiness for a lifetime, help someone else.

- CHINESE PROVERB

Volunteerism is an unpaid non-career based initiative undertaken by people, aimed at improving the welfare of fellow human beings, the community and society in general.  Volunteering has deep roots in the history and evolution of civilized society.
